THE LONG FAERIE TALE
|
A faerie tale for all ages
The Southland
A Lullaby Story, Part 1
by Ceanne DeRohan
"A magical new faerie tale with no dark side....woven in the spirit of friendship and adventure, a tale that sparks the imagination and a sense of wonder.." - CJ
Excerpts from the story:
Often their music and dancing inspires them so much they can soar up high in the trees where they see the moon shining her bright, friendly light. Brownies lead the way, dancing along the narrow pathway...
Little, round, Brownie bellies shake out deep, full laughter and their eyes look so happy and bright as they watch the antics of the little Sprites.
The air here smells of flowers and ocean spray, and gentle showers fall at nap time everyday. Many Pixies have homes tucked under the banyan roots, but some like to nap in tree houses where they have good views of the sea.
...some take hold of the feet of low flying birds and go for rides. They all laugh with delight as they skim the tops of the waves, and the foam fizzy sea tickles their feet.
Mermaids of greenish-gold skin and blue and green tails of glistening scales all covered with silver bubbles...
Each day, each coming and going of light lets the Nymphs arrange a new, colored cloud delight.
The gypsies are all laughing merrily now. Wavery is casually holding a rope to guide the sail, and Windon has ahold of the rudder with his foot. The Brownies are all laughing now, too...They decide to lean on their paddles more and show them how fast they can go. Before they know it, they're in a race to the shore.

A faerie tale for all ages
The Northland
A Lullaby Story, Part 2
by Ceanne DeRohan
Excerpts from the story:
What fun! The toboggan is racing on ahead and jumps off a snowy ledge. The reindeer takes a flying leap and soars with his little riders high into the starry night.
Papa closes his hands, and then, opening them, puts one crystal ball into Skonah's hand.It quickly pops into two. Still fascinated, she gives one to Skon. "Do you understand?" Papa asks.
Grampa Sabogomist comes in from the deep and cold. He has been watching the stars. "Let's have a sleep," he says, "for I know it will soon be time for us to go."
"There are pixie ice ships with big sails running on the winds down there. I don't think you've seen them before. Their ships are on big skis so when their sails catch the wind, they can turn and spin and run, oh so fast up and down on the river ice.
Evera's hair is silvery and mossy. His skin is pale and frosty. His garments are mossy and lacy with lichen. Featherings of evergreens trim every cuff and seam, and his boots are furry with turned up toes. His hands look like bark of a tree, and his fingers are long, slender and bending like branches can be.

The Midland
A Lullaby Story, Part 3
by Ceanne DeRohan
Excerpts from the story:
...all together, they lean into the wind. Oh! My goodness! It picks them all up!
What fun! In the bright Spring sun the gnomes are having tea parties with each other here and also with some of their animal friends.
Sometimes, faeries ride on the backs of other small birds, teasing the little gnomes because they can't be caught.
Twirling and whirling to the beat of the drums, the feathered 'birds' soon begin to leap and soar into the dark night air, now lit by the firelight. What a sight!
I want to roll in the mud and feel how funny it feels when it gets all dry," he declares. "Anybody want to join me?" Rye calls out as he rolls around in the mud nearby.
They begin to climb down the waterfall rock by rock, letting the water wash over them as they go. When they reach the bottom, they all want to play in the deep pool of fizzy, bubbly water there.
And so, under a great canopy of soft, blue skies, Summer peacefully lies in her grass and flower embroidered bower.
